Say it with flowers!

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share a card I made for the new challenge at Copic marker Europe "Say it with flowers".   I used this card for my aunt and uncle who had their 80th and 85th birthdayparty. The text is a Dutch translation of congratulations.

I've created a card with a beautiful flower stamp by Stampin' Up! called "Birthday Blooms".

Copic colours I've used:
pink: RV69, RV19, RV17, RV55, RV52
green leaves: G28, YG09, YG06, YG03
yellow: Y35

It's Wonderful Wednesday time!! We hope you can play along!! As always....it's ANYTHING GOES!! Break out your Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps and get krafty!!

For this card I've used this beautiful women with real shapes from the stampset A Bit Smart Assy 2 by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

And I thought that she deserved a tropical beach as background because that's the place where I want to be right now ;-)

I've coloured the beach with my Copic markers. 2 years ago I made a beach tutorial and you can find it HERE.

I just changed some colours and added some more details and voila, that's the result.

underwater background tutorial

Hi everyone!

First I stamped this gorgeous mermaid from the set "Mermaid Friends" by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. Mostly you see the water is a little bit darker at the bottom of the sea, so I started to flick a little around her tail with BG45. I always start to flick by the tail towards the edge of the paper.   

It's useful if your image is not already colored, otherwise you'll pull out the color of her tail out the image .

Go over the previous surfaces with your BG34 and flick a little wider. I added some BG34 at the height of her belly too. It's important to use the flicking technique because we don't want a smooth effect.

Blend the area's with BG23 and add a new part at the height of her head.

Repeat the previous steps with BG45 and BG23 to darken up the area's.

Blend everything together with BG11. If you don't get a nice blend, check if you still have enough ink in your marker. That will make things much easier!

After we did the background we can add a lightsource. Just take a pencil and draw an arrow to give you an idea where the light is comming from.
Use your blender to draw some stipes from the corner to the edges of the paper in fan shape.

The left part of the image has to become a bit lighter than the right part because the light is coming that way, so I added some BG10 between the blender stripes. At the right side I've added some BG11 instead.

It would be fun if you could see the sun shining through the water, so you can add some YR20 in fan shape to the upper left corner of the coloring. Now it looks like a sunny day underwater.

After the background was finished I've colored the gorgeous mermaid and I used the colors that were in the Doodlebug paperpad "Under the sea".

As finishing touch I've added some white dots with a white Molotow marker and clear Wink of Stella on her tail so it looks like the tail sparkles.

Animal challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps

Hi everyone!

Today there's an animal challenge at Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.

And this is the card I made for the new challenge.

I used the new stampset Ocean of Love by artist Becky Pearce.  Wich is currently sold out, it will be restocked asap!!!

All the animals of the set are super cute.

I've used the paperpad by Echo Park "Under the sea" wich is super adorable! Look at the little mermaids and sea creatures on the paper. 

I've made a rainbow  watercoloured background for the sweet inkfishes. The circular dies are by Spellbinders and the wave border is by Noor!design.

It's finally here!!! The RELEASE of our MAY 2016 clear stamp sets!!!

Here's the card I made featuring The Ocean and Serena Sparkles. I think they are a match made in heaven.

Krafty peeks day 4: Oceans of love!

Hi everyone!

Welcome Krafty Friends to day 4 of our May Krafty Previews!!!

Plus a Challenge!

Today we are previewing a sunny new set of images and sentiments by artist, Becky Pearce! Check out all the adorable underwater stamps in this set called OCEANS OF LOVE! And I must say, I just LOVE it!!! You can do so many things with it and I love all the accessoiry stamps that's going with the "large" images!

It's also Challenge Day and our hostess is Krafty Girl, Becky! The challenge is Anything Goes!

I made this card with the adorable paperpad "Under the sea" by Doodlebug. I think it's the perfect match. I stamped a scene with some of the images and coloured them in with my Copic markers. I tried to use the colourscheme of the paperpad, so it coordinates perfectly.

I made a little shaker in a polaroid picture shape. So it's like you took a picture under the see. I filled it with some clear and flat sequins for a bubbles illusion.

Krafty peeks day 3: Mermaid Friends

It's day 3 of our MAY Krafty Previews!!! Are you ready for another amazing day of May krafty peeks! Have you been enjoying all the underwater creations so far?

Did you think we were done with the MERMAIDS??? Nope!! Today we are sharing previews featuring a set that I KNOW will make a splash! 

 We're so excited to share the new set of fin-tastic images by artist Emilie Goulet called ...

MERMAID FRIENDS!!

 I just love them!!!

I have a waterturtle at home so I choosed to make make a card with the turtle. I just love them!

I sponged the background with some distress inks, sprayed some water  on it and depped it off with some household paper. I added some white spots with white ink.

I coloured the turtle and the mermaid with some Copic markers.

I added some Clear Wink of Stella on her tail and her top for a bit more sparkling and a white gelpen to add some white highlights on her tail.

Krafty peeks day 2: Keep Swimming!

Hi everyone!

It's day 2 of our May Krafty Previews!!!

We've got lots more fabulous previews for you today! Just wait 'til you seeeeee!

Today we are sharing another adorable underwater set, 

this one by artist, Cheryl Grant! I think you'll WHALE-Y love it!! 

The set is called KEEP SWIMMING!!

 It features our cute kids Lucas and Lulu having some splish splashy fun with some underwater friends! There are 4 main images plus 5 fabby sentiments!

And here's the card I made with this fantastic set. 

I sponged a background with some distress ink pads (Weathered wood, Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon) and sprayed some water with my mister on it and depped it of with some household paper.

After that I've embossed the sentiment with some white embossing powder. I stamped some fishes and bubbles from the set by Becky that we're going to see tomorrow. So you get a little peek of her new set and it's on of my faves EVER! Wait till you see it!

Of course I coloured Lucas and the dolphin with Copic markers.

May Krafty Previews day 1

Hi everyone!

Woohoo! It's day 1 of our MAY Krafty Previews!!!

First off, we have a 2 new stamp set featuring BRAND NEW MERMAIDS!!!!!!! I know some of you have been waiting for these!! They SHORE are beautiful and they are called SERENA SPARKLES and TREENA TWINKLES! And each one features several super cute and funny coordinating sentiments!

Next up Annie has designed the perfect BACKGROUND stamp set to go with these new mermaids and many other summer stamp sets OR to just use it by itself!! How gorgeous is this underwater scene called THE OCEAN!!?

Here's the card I made, I've used Treena Twinkles and the Ocean background. I used them together and made a see through (haha, don't know if that's a correct name) card, because the background is too beautiful too hide a piece of it! 

I coloured the sea background and putted it on the inside of the card.  I used a retangular die by Crealies to cut out the middle of the front and I adhered a plastic sheet behind the retangle. I added the mermaid in front of the card with some foam tape to create some reliëf.

Here's the inside of the card. It looks like it's a sunny day underwater, right?

And here's a close up from the tail of my mermaid. I used a dotted technique on her tail and added some white dots with my Sharpie pen and as finishing touch I've added some Clear Wink of Stella over it.
